The Lesson Plans and authentic materials provided here were developed and used by me throughout the course of the Spring 2016 NYU School of Professional Studies Community English Class - Level 3.

Sample Lesson 1
Listening
Goal: Be able to listen to, and understand, a cooking show presentation.
Student Learning Objectives: Students will better understand the concept of "comfort foods." Students will be better able to listen to cooking instructions and will have been exposed to/practiced language used in giving cooking instructions.
Sample Lesson 2
Grammar
Goal: Be able to write about holidays and celebrations.
Student Learning Objectives: Students will be better able to use relative clauses of time and adverbial clauses of time.

Reading
Goal: Practice different reading techniques.
Student Learning Objective:
Students will be better able to read for comprehension and scan for answers.

Speaking
Goal: Practice telling others about past life experiences.
Student Learning Objective:
Students will be better able to speak fluently about previous experiences using various verb tenses.
